THE TENNESSEE AVIATION ASSOCIATION

The history of aviation in Tennessee is a story of imaginative and dedicated leadership that began in the 1930s. Political leaders realized, even then, how important a well-planned system of airports would become to the state's economic development and its future progress. Today, Tennessee's aviation system is not only the envy of the Southeastern region, but of the entire nation.

Air transportation is a basic element of Tennessee's economic progress and its future. The Tennessee Aviation Association was founded in 1990 to provide a focal point for aviation leadership, advocacy and communication... for today and tomorrow.

The association is led by an Executive Committee dedicated to assuring Tennessee's continued aviation leadership in the Southeast.

With a membership comprised of primarily airports and local governments the TAA is a powerful advocate for airports and aviation transportation in Tennessee.

TAA has established a prominent and credible presence within the industry, with state and local governments, among aviation groups and state government across Tennessee and the nation. TAA encourages aviation businesses within the state to do business with each other whenever possible and assists in attracting new aviation industry to Tennessee. A basic priority of the association is to serve as a catalyst to encourage communication, the exchange of ideas and to foster strategic relationships among airports and those who support them.
